Business Development Representative

meltmedia is launching an ambitious mission to transform our sales and marketing, but we’re missing a key crew member: you.

As we go to market with a newfound focus on our service offerings and target verticals, you’ll be a critical contributor to business growth goals. You’ll serve as a key connector for sales, marketing, strategic technology channel partners, and prospective B2B customers. Your natural charisma and goal-driven nature put you in command of starting conversations with qualified buyers at the top of the funnel, uncovering new opportunities, and nurturing leads through handoff to the closing sales team. (Our sales cycles can last up to several months, and multiple roles are often involved in closing deals.)

You’re passionate about selling professional design and development services for a well-established, top-ranked digital agency with a roster of top-tier national clients in pharmaceutical, life sciences, health care, and other industries through a mix of outbound prospecting, inbound marketing programs, and strategic activities with our technology channel partners. You’re comfortable working independently and as part of a tight-knit team, with executive leadership, to achieve revenue goals.


  • Build a prospect list of qualified buyers that match our ideal customer profile
  • Target, educate, and engage leads through a long-term sales cycle, developing relationships and building trust  
  • Help qualify leads sourced from inbound marketing programs and connect greater sales team to new opportunities
  • Work closely with strategic technology partners such as Acquia, Adobe, and Veeva to uncover joint selling opportunities
  • Attend marketing and industry events (webinars, conferences, etc.) to acquire new leads and build connections
  • Leverage CRM to maintain and report on pipeline contributions
  • Identify outreach activities with our marketing team and technology channel partners
  • Secure and run meetings to identify projects for greater marketing/sales team to pursue
  • Perform initial vetting of inbound RFPs/project opportunities
  • Consult with marketing team to create relevant, valuable content for prospective buyers
  • Occasionally travel (up to 30%) within U.S.


Desired qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience with long-term B2B sales cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to build contact lists that lead to meetings and opportunities
  • Track record of achieving quota for prospects, opportunities, and revenue
  • Comfort reaching out to “cold” or “lukewarm” leads to build relationships
  • Solid communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience networking and lead prospecting at events and conferences
  • Ability to reach rapid fluency in a highly regulated, technical industry
  • Understanding of digital marketing technology and concepts
  • Familiarity utilizing a CRM to track and report on sales activities
  • Solution-based or professional services sales or marketing experience
  • Collaborative team mentality with strong motivation to achieve shared goals

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare industries
  • Experience nurturing high-value accounts across a long-term sales cycle
  • Background in selling digital marketing services (design, development, and UX)
  • Familiarity with Drupal/Acquia, Veeva, and/or Adobe Experience Manager
  • Successful track record in B2B sales to senior-level, technical buyers
  • Knowledge of account-based sales and marketing principles
